SEEC
SEEC is a Maryland non-profit agency that provides persons with developmental disabilities to live and work in their communities. Kevin Murphy is a member of the Board, and serves as chair of the fundraising committee, which each year hosts six to eight community-based events that raise a significant portion of the agency’s operating funds. Kevin was recognized for his efforts in 2005 with the Volunteer of the Year Award. SEEC’s programs include supported employment, nursing assistance, an activity center, family support services and independent living support. SEEC has received several awards for outstanding service to the disabled community in Maryland.

Rotary Clubs
Rotary International is a worldwide public service organization with Clubs in over 160 countries and more than a million members. Its major current international project is the eradication of polio worldwide. Carr Maloney's Managing Attorney William Carter was the President of the Olney, Maryland Rotary Club for the 2005-2006 term. He also served as the President for the 1999-2000 term. The organization has raised money for local projects and causes such as the Olney Boys and Girls Club, Hospice Caring, Montgomery General Hospital, Special Love, Joe’s Ride and Olney Help. The Olney Club is also active with its local high school, having established at Sherwood High a Rotary Interact Club, which works with the Club on community service projects. Internationally, the Olney Rotary Club has refurbished donated computers and sent them to schools in Jamaica.

Vinson Hall
Vinson Hall, in McLean, Virginia, is a retirement residence, assisted living facility and nursing home that is sponsored by the Navy, the Marines, and the Coast Guard Foundation for retired sea service military personnel and their families. Vinson Hall is currently constructing a specialized facility for the memory impaired. Ed Krill, Of Counsel to Carr Maloney, has served as a member of the Vinson Hall Corporation’s Board of Directors for several years. He has been a member of the Finance Committee and currently heads the Audit Committee.

Catholic Youth Organization
The Catholic Archdiocese of Washington runs athletic programs through the Catholic Youth Organization. Firm attorneys actively volunteer in CYO programs. Carr Maloney Member Paul Maloney coaches a girls’ team at the Church of the Little Flower, in Bethesda, Maryland. Carr Maloney Member Jim Steele coaches a boys’ team at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

National Youth Leadership Forum
Each year, Carr Maloney P.C. participates in events sponsored by the National Youth Leadership Forum. Our attorneys enjoy the opportunity to contribute to the development of bright young minds. While visiting Carr Maloney, NYLF students meet with attorneys and administrative staff to discuss the practice of law both as a profession and as a business. Students explore and discuss complex legal issues, as well as the day-to-day business demands of a professional services firm.

The Patricia M. Sitar Center
The Patricia M. Sitar Center for the Arts is a community arts organization that offers after-school, Saturday, and summer arts education programs in the District of Columbia for the underprivileged. The Sitar Center currently serves more than 300 students in the areas of music, dance, drama, writing and visual art. Carr Maloney member Tom McCally does pro bono legal work for the Sitar Center.

The Carmody Open
The Carmody Open is an annual charity golf tournament that raises money for the Kevin W. Carmody Scholarship Fund, which pays the tuition for fatherless boys at Gonzaga College High School. Carr Maloney member, and Gonzaga alumnus, Jim Steele is a volunteer member of the tournament’s Executive Committee. Over the years, the tournament has raised nearly $1,000,000 for the scholarship fund.
