Personal Statement:
Zachary G. Williams joined Carr Maloney as an associate in 2011. His practice focuses on civil litigation and general liability. Before joining Carr Maloney, Zach represented citizens, homeowners associations, and environmental organizations in land use and property cases in Virginia and Maryland. Zach has assisted with appellate briefs in the Virginia Supreme Court, the Maryland Court of Appeals, and the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Zach has also assisted with briefs in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and in the United States Court of Federal Claims.
Zach earned his J.D. at The George Washington University Law School. During law school, Zach was selected to be a member of The American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal. Zach also participated in the Consumer Mediation Clinic. Before law school, Zach earned a B.A. in Political Science at Davidson College. At Davidson, Zach served as the Managing Editor for The Davidsonian, a student-run weekly newspaper.
Zach is the author of “Hometaping in the 21st Century: Updating the Audio Home Recording Act to Address Emerging Technologies,” 36 AIPLA Q.J. 77 (2008).
