Personal Statement:
Dennis Quinn, a member of the firm, concentrates his practice on professional liability, commercial litigation, product liability, and coverage litigation. He frequently speaks to bar associations on how to avoid legal malpractice claims and bar complaints. He has successfully represented dozens of clients in legal and accounting malpractice actions and has tried cases in all of the state and federal courts of the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia. Some of his reported cases include Liu v. Allen, 894 A.2d 453, (D.C. 2006); Carolina Cas. Ins. Co. v. Draper & Goldberg, P.L.L.C., 138 Fed.Appx. 542, 2005 WL 1601422 (4th Cir. 2005); Bank of America v. Musselman, 240 F.Supp.2d 547 (E.D.Va. 2003); Mutual Benefit Group v. Gentzler & Smith Associates, 496 F.Supp.2d 133 (D.D.C 2007); Mavity v. Fraas, 456 F.Supp.2d. 29 (D.D.C. 2006)
Dennis is the author of Using the Regulatory Compliance Defense in Products Liability Cases in Virginia, 27 J. Civ. Litig. 249 (2005).
After graduating from law school in 1988, Dennis spent six years on active duty in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps, where he tried over 125 criminal and civil cases. During the Persian Gulf War, he served as the staff judge advocate to an amphibious battle group that participated in several combat operations off the coast of Kuwait. In 1993, Dennis joined the White House Counsels' Office as Special Counsel to the President, responsible for overseeing the background investigations of all political appointees. Upon leaving the White House, he served as Senior Counsel to the John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Review Board. In that capacity, he was in charge of the medical records dealing with JFK's medical treatment and autopsy.
