Personal Statement:
Juan is an Associate practicing primarily in the areas of General Liability, Professional Malpractice, and Complex Litigation. He has represented various attorneys, accountants and other professionals in malpractice claims. He recently represented an attorney in a complex zoning legal malpractice case during a nine-day arbitration hearing. Juan has also written materials and provided training to professionals about minimizing malpractice exposure.
Prior to joining Carr Maloney P.C., Juan served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Maurice A. Ross of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. During his time at American University’s Washington College of Law, Juan was a member of the Student Bar Association and participated in the Civil Practice Clinic.
Before he practiced law, Juan worked for nine years in the fields of accounting and finance. For more than four of those years, he worked as a Program & Budget Analyst at the Federal Reserve Board. He is a former board member of both Community Clinic, Inc. and the Silver Spring Citizen’s Advisory Board. Juan currently volunteers as a mentor to high school students with the Emerging Leaders Program in Washington, D.C. He also serves as Vice-President for External Affairs of the Hispanic Bar Association of D.C. and as a Chair of the Latino/a Alumni Association of the Washington College of Law. Juan received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2000, as a Non-Commissioned Officer.
