Personal Statement:
Mariana is a member of the firm. She maintains a diverse practice litigating matters involving professional malpractice, real estate litigation, premises liability, construction, commercial litigation, and negligence. In addition to litigating, Mariana counsels clients on risk management issues, business practices, and contract formation. Mariana also advises insurance carriers on coverage disputes and complex coverage issues. She has litigated cases in state and federal courts in Virginia and the District of Columbia, and has also successfully tried cases in state courts and administrative tribunals.
Mariana builds strong client relationships and responds effectively and efficiently to client needs. She strives for the best legal result for each client. Mariana represents attorneys, health care providers, settlement agents, companies, appraisers, abstractors, real estate agents and brokers, insurance agents and brokers, businesses, and corporations. She also represents a national private corrections management company. Recent engagements also include defending companies in complex construction litigation and real estate disputes.
Mariana has also authored several articles in the field of insurance coverage and general liability topics, and has given presentations on risk management topics.
Mariana, who is fluent in Spanish, studied law in Argentina where she interned for the Honorable Juan Esteban Ciciarro in the Criminal Court of Investigation in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She assisted in investigating criminal cases. She also clerked for the United States Department of Justice in the Organized Crime & Racketeering Division assisting in the prosecution of white-collar crime. After graduating from law school, Mariana served as the law clerk for the Honorable William D. Quarles in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
