On May 9th, Carr Maloney Managing Member Kevin Murphy was a Featured Speaker at the Annual Meeting of the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA) Tax Practice Responsibilities Committee. With more than 431,000 members, AICPA is the world’s largest member association representing the accounting profession.
Mr. Murphy’s presentation focused on Claims, Risk and Professional Responsibility Issues for CPA’s in tax practice. This included an in-depth discussion of topics such as engagement letter issues, tax return identity frauds, disclosure filings, legal privileges, penalties, reasonable cause filings and foreign asset reporting issues.
