Prior to entering private practice, Jonathan served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the State’s Attorney Office of Montgomery County Maryland. He represented the State of Maryland in a wide variety of cases, ranging from misdemeanors to serious felony charges including fraud, forgery, burglary and robbery. During his time at the State’s Attorney Office, Jonathan tried over 200 bench trials, several jury trials and negotiated plea agreements in over 1000 cases.

While at the George Washington University Law School, Jonathan was selected as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Lee F. Satterfield of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.  He also worked as a research assistant for Professor Lee Harris, a visiting professor from the University of Memphis Law School.  He served as an Executive Board Member of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and Treasurer of the Entertainment and Sports Law Association.

Following his graduation from law school, Jonathan was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Richard E. Jordan, Associate Judge in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland.
