Joseph A. Smith focuses his practice on products liability, professional liability, and complex litigation, and general liability. Joe focuses on finding the best results for each client – both inside and outside the courtroom.

Joe completed his legal education at The George Washington University School of Law, where he competed successfully in mock trial and moot court and earned his law degree in 2011. He also was a staff member of the Federal Circuit Bar Journal. While in law school Joe served as a law clerk with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel in Washington, D.C., where he focused his efforts on the Hatch Act, a complex statutory scheme governing the political activities of state and federal employees.

Prior to joining Carr Maloney, Joe practiced plaintiffs’-side litigation. He worked on a variety of cases, ranging from complex medical and pharmaceutical malpractice to minor automobile collision cases.  This experience gives him an educated perspective on how to analyze and develop a client’s case to minimize the litigation risk and cost. He is committed to providing straightforward and informed advice to each client, along with outstanding client service.
