Shawn Michael concentrates his practice on Business Law and Commercial Litigation, General Liability, Health Care and Insurance Coverage.
Prior to entering private practice, Shawn served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the State’s Attorney Office of Montgomery County Maryland. He represented the State of Maryland in a wide variety of cases, ranging from misdemeanors to serious felony charges including fraud, forgery, burglary and robbery. During his time at the State’s Attorney Office, Shawn tried over 100 bench trials, several jury trials and negotiated plea agreements in over 1000 cases. He was assigned to the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) Team, which focuses on traffic cases involving fatalities and life threatening injuries.
While attending University of Baltimore School of Law, Shawn was a guest lecturer for Project Access, a high school transition program that helps learning disabled students transition into post-secondary education. Following his graduation from law school, Shawn was a Judicial Law Clerk for United States Magistrate Judge Charles B. Day of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. He assisted in all aspects of Federal practice while drafting memorandum and opinions for discovery and e-discovery disputes.
