Tracy Scott is a trial attorney who focuses her practice on premises, professional, and product liability. In addition, she is well-versed in construction litigation and general liability issues. Tracy draws upon her extensive legal knowledge, exceptional analytical skills, and strategic acumen to resolve some of the most complex disputes, promptly address challenges, and generate results for clients.

Tracy has successfully represented individuals and businesses on a wide variety of matters, including state and federal consumer protection, malpractice defense, personal injury cases, and wrongful death claims, among others. She gives clients the thorough representation they deserve and, in doing so, finds ways to reduce litigation expenses and exposure.

After graduating from law school, Tracy clerked for the Honorable Marielsa A. Bernard of the Montgomery County Circuit Court.

While earning her law degree, Tracy served as a budget and legislative analyst at the Montgomery County Commission for Women. In that role, she counseled senior management on personnel, financial, and procurement matters, and worked closely with members of the U.S. Congress and Maryland General Assembly. In law school, she actively participated in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic and was a member of the Student Bar Association.

Tracy also served as a legislative assistant for Congressman Louis Stokes (D-OH), where she monitored an array of critical public policy issues, interacted with constituents, and developed legislative initiatives.

  • Obtained a defense verdict for a client who failed to appear in court. His co-defendant was found liable, and plaintiff was awarded more than $150,000 in damages.
  • Successfully represented a client during settlement negotiations in a complex commercial dispute in which the plaintiff’s multi-million-dollar demand was reduced to $5,000.
  • Obtained a dismissal for a client when plaintiff introduced a new expert a few weeks before trial; promptly filed a motion to strike the expert, which the court granted.

Tracy’s hobbies include cooking, reading, watching sports, and photography. Most of all, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children.
