April 27, 2009 – Washington – The Embassy of Italy in Washington, D.C. has certified Carr Maloney attorney Tina Maiolo as its official referral contact concerning requests for legal aid that the embassy receives from its constituency. The certification was formalized by Giovanni Castellaneta, the Italian ambassador to the United States. Maiolo is the only attorney in the United States to receive certification of this kind.
Headquartered in Washington, D.C, the Consulate General of Italy has offices in cities across the U.S., including New York, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Denver and Los Angeles. In addition to serving as a political, cultural and economic bridge between Italy and the U.S., the organization assists individuals with a wide range of matters, from deportation issues to citizenship requests to background on starting a business. The Italian Embassy receives regular requests from individuals for legal assistance, and chose to certify Maiolo based on her experience, legal acumen and strong dedication to the Italian-American community.
“I am honored to be selected as the sole legal referral contact of the Italian Embassy, and I thank Ambassador Castellaneta for a designation that I consider both a great honor and a great responsibility,” said Maiolo. “Along with my colleagues at Carr Maloney, I look forward to serving the constituents of the Embassy in a manner that preserves and enhances the tremendous tradition and pride of our heritage.”
