Tina M. Maiolo, a member of the firm, recently published an article in Inside Counsel entitled “Applying for H-1B petitions: The clock is ticking.”
The article focuses on the impact of the “Boarder Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act.” Maiolo urges employers to prepare and file their petitions before the cap is reached. Currently, the 113th Congress is considering the legislation that would make extensive revisions to nonimmigrant categories for professional specialty workers, but until then, there are only 85,000 H-1B visas available.
