Richard Schwartz is a litigator who focuses his practice on professional liability and other civil cases. He defends accountants and other professionals in malpractice claims, and he helps professionals respond to subpoenas and other legal processes.

Richard has counseled and represented clients in general litigation and complex wrongful-death cases in courts throughout the United States. In addition, he has extensive experience in insurance coverage matters at the trial and appellate levels.

Richard offers clients effective and responsive guidance through the legal process. When appropriate, he also offers understanding and reassuring support for clients who may be in situations they find uncertain and environments they may find threatening.

While earning his law degree from Wake Forest University, Richard was a member of the Wake Forest Law Review.


  • Helped one accountant settle a malpractice claim that involved allegations of unethical practice in a field outside of accounting.
  • Helped a client obtain a comprehensive nuisance-value settlement in a case involving bitter divorce litigants, a failing company, and multiple lawsuits.



Richard enjoys travel, art, and history. He is a donor to and member of the College Art Association.
