    On Wednesday, August 13, 2014, Tom McCally presented "Hot Topics in Employment Law" to the Human Resources section of the Association of Legal Administrators. The presentation addressed topics including the EEOC’s crackdown on background checks, the increasingly active NLRB, social media, the expansion of Title VII, the dangers of a mandatory retirement age, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act, co-employment status and recent Supreme Court rulings.

    On August 7, 2014, Tom McCally presented "Overview of US Employment and Labor Law" to students at GWU Law School. The presentation addressed federal and local employment discrimination and harassment law as well as new developments and trends in employment law.

  • Jim Steele Published in FC&S Legal: The Insurance Coverage Law Information Center

    Jim Steele, a member of the firm, recently published an article in the Eye on the Experts column at FC&S Legal entitled “Payne v. Erie Insurance Exchange: Coverage from the Named Insured to the First Permittee and Beyond,” The article examines the grant of permissive use from the named insured to the first permitted driver and what happens when the first permittee lets another person use the vehicle in question.
