Prior to joining Carr Maloney P.C., Matison Miller was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Associate Judge Elizabeth C. Wingo, former Presiding Judge of the Domestic Violence Division at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. During her clerkship, Matison prepared orders on criminal misdemeanor and probate matters, as well as drafted decisions for U Visa certification, orders to seal or set aside criminal convictions, and orders on motions made under the D.C. Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act.
Matison earned her law degree from the American University Washington College of Law. There, she served as the Associate Executive Editor for the Journal of Gender, Social Policy, and the Law, and as the Online Editor for the American University Legislation and Policy Brief. She also completed an externship at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia in the Domestic Violence and Special Victims unit.
Matison earned her Bachelor of Arts at Scripps College, where she graduated cum laude with a dual degree in Politics and Middle Eastern Studies. Matison also completed one semester at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and was a member of the college’s cross country and track and field teams.
