Civil Litigation Associate:
Carr Maloney PC, one of the area’s premier law firms, seeks a highly motivated and enthusiastic litigation associate to join its practice. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Washington, DC, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be able to commute to the office and must already reside in the DMV area prior to beginning employment.
Interested candidates should have at least one year of judicial clerkship experience and/or 1- 3 years of private law firm experience that includes depositions, discovery and motions practice.
The position affords the opportunity to handle all aspects of case preparation from the inception of the matter through completion, including depositions, motions, hearings, mediations, and trial.
Candidates must have strong academic credentials, research, and writing skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to handle a busy caseload.
Candidates must be licensed in VA or MD as well as in DC. Candidates not currently licensed in DC must be willing to become licensed in DC within a year. Additional licenses in NY, NJ or WV are considered a plus.
The firm offers a competitive salary for the position, with a starting range $119,928.00 to $124,488.00 dependent on level of experience.

Litigation Paralegal:
Carr Maloney is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our busy practice. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Washington, DC, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be able to commute to the office and must already reside in the DMV area prior to beginning employment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in medical record analysis, discovery and subpoena processes, trial preparation and presentation, and must be proficient with legal technology tools. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and the capability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and Adobe required. Candidates with prior experience completing legal research with software tools (Westlaw, PACER, Lexis/Nexis) and electronic court filing strongly preferred. Familiarity with Sanction, ProLaw and/or iManage a plus.
Paralegal certification a plus but not required. Ability to work occasional overtime is required. Must have own transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and summarize medical records for litigation purposes.
- Prepare and organize trial binders and exhibits.
- Compile, manage, and convey discovery responses and documentation.
- Draft and execute subpoenas for records and witness appearances.
- Assist attorneys with trial presentation logistics and technologies.
- Coordinate and manage electronic document production and digital litigation support tools.
- Perform factual and legal research using legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, PACER, LexisNexis).
- File documents electronically with federal and state courts.
- Communicate with clients, experts, court personnel, and third parties as needed.
- Maintain case files and organize materials using document management systems.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm or legal department.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with digital litigation support tools and electronic document production platforms.
- Prior experience with legal research tools such as Westlaw, PACER, and LexisNexis strongly preferred.
- Experience with electronic court filing systems required.
- Familiarity with Sanction, ProLaw, and/or iManage is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience.
