About
Prior to joining Carr Maloney, Elise served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Sean Staples, Associate Judge for Superior Court of the District of Columbia and Presiding Judge of the Domestic Violence Division. Over the course of her clerkship, Elise prepared orders on criminal matters and drafted decisions on applications for U Visa certification, motions for sentencing under the Youth Rehabilitation Act, and motions for Magistrate Judge review.
Before clerking at the D.C. Superior Court, Elise served a Charles F.C. Rull Fellow in the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. Elise worked in the Civil Litigation section, defending the District and its employees in various employment, personal injury, and civil rights suits. She particularly defended the District in Whistleblower Protection Act suits and claims for Wrongful Death.
Elise earned her law degree from the George Washington University Law School and has a specialization in International and Comparative Law. She was a finalist in the First Year Moot Court competition, a senior board member of the Journal for Energy and Environmental Law, and served as a teaching assistant for the Legal Research and Writing class for both her second and third years of law school.
Elise went to the University of California, Los Angeles for her undergraduate degree in Political Science.
