Washington, D.C. (April 22, 2021): Carr Maloney Partner and Virginia State Bar Ethics Committee Chair Dennis Quinn was recently quoted in an article published in the Virginia Lawyers Weekly titled, “State Bar Urges Client Sex Prohibition.”
The Virginia State Bar Council continues to endorse an explicit ban on lawyers engaging in sexual relations with clients. The Bar Council voted 54-2 on April 21 to recommend the Supreme Court of Virginia adopt the prohibition on client sexual relations with new language in Rule 1.8.
